Get Rid of Dark Circles with These Easy Tips

Via Peters

Under-eye dark circles are common in men and women. The issue with dark circles is that it makes the whole face look tired and even older. While some of the causes can be genetic, there are several other factors that contribute to the appearance of dark circles such as fatigue, lack of sleep, dehydration, and an unhealthy lifestyle. In severe cases, it is best to see a doctor, but there are some easy home remedies that can somehow reduce their appearance, especially in case of fatigue. All you need for these remedies are some of your kitchen staples. For best results, follow these remedies on a daily basis.

Cucumber Slices

By far, this is the most effective natural remedy. Cucumber is known for its anti-inflammatory and skin brightening properties. They help fight puffiness around the eyes and give this sensitive area a hydration boost. Chop a cucumber into thick slices and keep in the fridge for a cooling effect. Place the slices on the eyes for 10 minutes then rinse with lukewarm water.

Tomatoes are rich in antioxidants as well as Lycopene which helps make the skin softer and suppler. Mix tomato juice with a couple drops of lemon juice then apply the mixture with a cotton pad under the eyes making sure not to get it into your eyes. Leave this mixture for 10 minutes then rinse with lukewarm water.

Cold Milk Compress

The lactic acid in milk plays a great role in brightening the skin and reducing puffiness. Additionally, the retinoids regenerate the skin cells making it look younger and brighter. For this remedy, soak cotton discs in cold milk then apply to your eyelids. Let it sit for 1 minute then rinse with lukewarm water.

Vitamin E Oil

Vitamin E works wonders on the skin in general. In addition to reducing wrinkles, vitamin E can fight free radicals that cause skin problems such as aging.  Empty a vitamin E capsule and use its oil to gently massage the area around your eyes. Leave the oil on your eyelids overnight then rinse in the morning.

Besides these natural remedies you also should:

1. Sleep better.

2. Reduce your salt consumption and drink more water.

3. Use eye massagers.

4. Curb alcohol consumption

5. Eat more salmon and dark chocolate
