She stars as the Pioneer Woman on the popular Food Network cooking show which focuses on family-friendly dishes from one of her many cookbooks.

And Ree Drummond shared 10 of her top weight loss tips after losing 55lbs. in one year, a quest which began in January 2021 when she was gearing up for her daughter’s wedding.

The 53-year-old cooking queen admitted that ‘becoming healthy is a lifestyle change’ as she detailed a few of her top tips for losing weight to her millions of fans.

In a blog post on her Pioneer Woman website, Ree noted that last January she was at her ‘highest weight ever’ when she decided to focus on healthy ways to take care of her body.

A few tips she gave her readers included: ‘I ate fewer calories. I consumed smaller portions. I weighed my food. I walked and did the rowing machine.’

Ree also made it clear that she did not go on a keto diet or intermittently fast. She also did not sign on with a personal trainer.

She also ‘built muscle by lifting weights and doing lunges and squats. I ate more protein, ate less sugar and drank no alcohol.’

In addition, Ree used the assistance of an app called Happy Scale ‘to track my daily weight’ and monitor any major fluctuations. 

Ree, who has four children with husband Ladd, also ‘switched to a standing desk and generally tried to stand and move more.’

In her blog post, she noted: ‘Losing weight and becoming healthy is a lifestyle change, but it hasn’t changed my life. (Or has it?…)’ 

She added: ‘Today I feel stronger, more in balance (both physically and mentally), and I have more spring to my step. I am wearing clothes I wasn’t comfortable wearing a year ago, I feel better about the way I look, and I’m smiling more (yes, even more than I smiled before, which was a lot–haha) and that is a nice feeling at age 53.

‘After the experience of the past year, I feel better. I have more energy. I’m more motivated to take on projects and put things on the ol’ calendar. Feeling good bleeds over into all aspects of my life. And that has changed my outlook.
